Course Description:
This IN PERSON (I) course is a discussion-intensive, interdisciplinary class that will cover ideas, events and aesthetics that have shaped the modern and contemporary Latin American literary/cultural discourse. A selection of most relevant works of major writers/artists/intellectuals will be studied in the context of historical and socio-political developments from 1910 to the present time.

Course Objectives:
1. To carry out a comprehensive survey of the XX, XXI Century Latin
American Culture and Literature.
2. To develop the ability to identify and analyze relevant Latin American
literary/film/visual arts expressions
3. To achieve an understanding of the uniqueness of the context in
which Latin American literature emerges, searching for its 
historical destiny.
