This course will be an introduction to the various creative elements of making theatre. Students will learn about the artistic and social concerns of theatre practitioners through a variety of materials. Students will attend performances, participate in collaborative class projects, read critical essays, read plays, watch video footage of performances, and more. Throughout the course students will be asked to think about the ways in which theatre illuminates larger social and cultural issues.
