  • What search strategies would you recommend that this student try? 

I would first suggest that the student look at the Davidson College Library Catalog and use Boolean operators to narrow down their search since the topic is specific. Some key phrases I would include are "COVID-19" "Gender Inequality" and "Pay Gap." After potentially finding some sources from their and if they need more I would suggest looking through the bibliographies of the sources to find more. Or they could use the controlled vocabulary to further narrow down their search. And, to ensure that they only get peer-reviewed sources I would suggest they make use of the library catalog's results refiner. They can ask the catalog to only show peer-reviewed sources and what kind of source they want (magazine, journal, book, etc.)
