- What search strategies would you recommend that this student try?
I would recommend that the student begin with the Davidson College Library website. They can narrow their search tools based on subject. For example, they could consider the Sociology Research Guides page for recommended databases. Gale EBooks and JStor came up as recommended tools. Then, I would use Boolean operators and switch out key words in the search. For example, "Covid-19" AND "gender wage gap." I recommend students use multiple operators and key words. Additionally, truncation (*) and wildcard (!) methods can ensure that variations of search terms are included in results.
