This writing-intensive, discussion-oriented course introduces students to literary analysis and the English major. We will study a variety of genres, including short fiction, poetry, drama, film, and the novel. Alongside these texts we will also read works of literary criticism and theory. Students will acquire the necessary vocabulary and critical strategies for effective analysis.
