Chinese 101 is the first stage of Davidson’s Elementary Chinese sequence. This non-intensive basic Chinese course is designed for students who have no (or little) previous exposure to the Chinese language and aims to develop students’ basic listening, speaking, reading and writing skills of the Chinese language (Mandarin) at the elementary level. The course involves interactive lectures, various in-class activities, homework exercises, and AT sessions on a weekly basis to develop the students’ Chinese language knowledge, communication skills, as well as intercultural and Interdisciplinary competence. Continued area of study will be CHI 102.
