Moodle: The TinyMCE Text Editor
Anyone who has used Moodle before is probably used to the gray ATTO text editor. Until summer 2024, that was the standard at Davidson as well, but we've switched the default text editor to TinyMCE. This is a feature we believe will make your Moodle experience significantly better, though it's often overlooked.
TinyMCE has a clean, modern look, and a super-useful feature set. It provides fast access to commonly used editing features, with dedicated dropdown menus containing extremely powerful features for adding and editing rich content. The video below covers several highlights of the new-and-improved TinyMCE, as well as how to change your preferred text editor.
By default, you'll see most of the available tools, but not all of them. To display the full toolbar, click the three-dots icon at the far right end of the bar.
